TALKING TO KIDS ABOUT THE CORONAVIRUS

At school our teachers are doing a great job safe guarding the health of our students and talking to them about the Coronavirus. I am sure that you would like to give them a pat on the back.

Parents have an important role to play in helping their children to understand what is going on, and to reassure them. With this in mind, I would like to share some resources with you that will help you to have these important conversations.

If you are wondering what to say or how to talk about the Coronavirus, then I am sure that you will find the recommendations of Dr Michael Carr- Greg very helpful. Click HERE to see a 6 minute video that gives great insight into parent child conversations.

Here is some advice from the Centre of Disease Control and Prevention with tips for adults to use when talking to children about the corona virus. Our teachers have been provided with this information.

Finally, our teachers are very clever at finding and using resources that educate about the corona virus in a reassuring manner that appeals to children. Click HERE for great comic resource that is being used in the older classrooms.
