2019 Interschool Athletics Carnival

The Beldon Primary School Athletics team competed in the annual Oceanside East Athletics Carnival last week.

The Jumps and Throws were held on Tuesday 17th September at Eddystone Primary School. At the completion of these events, Beldon were sitting in third place, only 10 points behind Craigie Heights who were the leaders. Congratulations to  Amerie, Xavier M and Xavier K who achieved a first place finish.

On Friday 20th September the running events, relays and team games were held, once again, at Eddystone Primary School. It was a beautiful day and the students from Beldon Primary competed with pride and displayed terrific sporting behaviour whether they won or lost.

An early highlight was the performance of the Year 1 boys and the Year 2  girls who all won their races. At one stage, we had won 8 individual running races in a row!
The Year 1-3 team game students were awesome and they demolished the other schools in 5 out of 6 team games.

At the end of the day Beldon finished in second place, only 23 points behind Craigie Heights. Congratulations to the Year 6 students who were magnificent in the team games in their last carnival competing for Beldon Primary School. The Year 6 girls won every team event they participated in. We will definitely miss them in 2020!

All of the other schools complimented the Beldon students on their performance in the team games. We were clearly the most prepared school in this area and this is due to the efforts of Mr Reid, Mrs K, Mrs George, Ms Brooke-Smith and Mr Williams who spent hours of their own time preparing the students. Next year Springfield Primary School will be joining our sporting association which will make it an even more exciting day.
